Apex Mechanical Projects was founded in 2014 as part of the Medway Group, operating as the group’s small works and maintenance division, delivering minor mechanical projects and ongoing maintenance contracts in support of the wider business.

In 2019, Medway Group founder and owner Paul Willett exited the group’s commercial contracting operations through a management buy-out. Paul retained ownership of Apex Mechanical Projects and the group’s property holdings, enabling a renewed focus on developing Apex as a small to medium-sized mechanical contractor while continuing to grow the group’s property holdings.

Drawing on more than twenty years of industry experience, Managing Director Paul Willett has grown Apex Mechanical Projects into one of the South Coast’s leading mechanical contractors. The company delivers projects across a wide range of sectors including education, healthcare, leisure, commercial and warehouse space, private residential, care, and social housing.

Apex’s business model is built on developing long-term relationships with clients by providing a professional, reliable and competitive service. Our clients include many of the South Coast’s leading main contractors, as well as local authorities including Hampshire County Council, Fareham Borough Council, Portsmouth City Council, and a number of housing associations.

Contracts are secured through competitive tender or direct negotiation, with Apex offering a bespoke mechanical design service tailored to each client’s budget and project requirements. We deliver pre-designed schemes, design development of existing designs, or full design and build solutions, all supported by our in-house design capability and professional indemnity insurance.
